Assigned to the 303rd BG Molesworth 16/6/1943, it was transferred to the 334th BS 95th BG, Horham 17/6/1943.
Piloted By Robert C. Cozens from June to September 1943, following a propeller runaway, the Cozens crew transferred to 42-30226.

In late September 1943, William E. Buckley Jr took command of 42-30273, until it crashed at Lingen, Germany, 10/10/2943, en route to Munster.
W.E. Buckley and four other crew members were killed with the other five being captured, one of the survivors, co-pilot Fred Kennie, returned to Horham for the annual open day, in May 2005.
