Each crew member had his state flag painted as close to his crew position as possible, with the national flag on the nose. It is believed to be the first “Stars and Stripes” to fly over Germany In
the war.
It was later re-named “Floozie Flossie”
Missing in action over Berlin, piloted by Vilberg, it crashed at Nendorf, Germany, with one crew member, evading capture. The other nine members being taken prisoner.
