It was transferred to the 412th BS at Horham, 14/9/1944.
The ultimate fate is uncertain, information with the photo state that it was battle damaged and completely demolished on return to Horham, however in Roger Freeman’s “The B17 Flying Fortress Story”, it is said to have been hit by an incoming aircraft and was salvaged, returned to the USA and scrapped at Kingman Field 25/11/19445.
